Chuck is not only a singing drummer, he also twirls his sticks to the amazed delight of his audience. Then when he gets out his harmonica you just know the music is in his blood.
A Mini Bio
Chuck has been playing drums since he was a rhythm possessed kid. He played drums and trumpet in the school band and was mentored, at an early age, by Wally Heider, creator of Filmways. Chuck studied with Murray Spivak during his formative years. The Grip is especially important to becoming a good drummer. There are a couple of methods worth studying. The Spivak grip and the Moeller Method, are both good to know.
Here's a link to a video of The Spivack Grip.
A PERCUSSION COLLABORATION
Chuck and Kenny Park had a great time collaborating on Drum Songs From Around the World. Their aim was to create percussion sounds much the way a regular popular song is composed, the verse, the chorus, the bridge, and so on. If you listen closely you can hear the transitions. Here is just one example but they are planning to release an album in the future. If you sign up on the Contact page, we will definitely let you know when that happens.
Here's a sample.
ANOTHER COLLABORATION
Chuck and JC Dwyer have collaborated once more on the now-released Megatrax album Fun Town Rock 2
Chuck is co-composer and drummer on tracks #14, #15 and drummer on #16. Here's s a link to MEGATRAX where you can listen to the full track and the edits that are available for TV and film.
